The project is loosely organized into three biome-based multi-species live animal exhibit and experience zones: Woodlands, Wetlands, and Grasslands. These are linked by the Thicket, an exploratory play environment, that takes the form of a highly stylized evocation of a classic New England transitional pasture, an ecotone where several different “natural neighborhoods” and their inhabitants overlap and intersect.
